I had two large metal cabinets I got for a steal at a second hand store, but as one might expect, they came lacking keys for their locking L-handles. After calling around and actually receiving a quote from one highly rated mobile locksmith for - get this - anywhere from $200 to $250, and another locksmith who brushed me off telling me they were too busy for such a job and recommended another shop, I decided to follow my original instincts and actually visit a locksmith shop so they could actually see the lock in question.
I found Convoy Street Locksmith eight miles away. I brought my two keyed L-handles and he offered to key them. He took them to his bench, which was out of my view, and after a few seconds, I timidly asked if he was going to tackle them then, and to my surprise he said "Yes". I wasn't expecting immediate same day service, so I asked the locksmith for a place nearby where I could buy ice tea to kill the wait, and by the time I returned (12 minutes maybe) he had keyed both handles, and nowhere near the obscene amount I was quoted earlier.
I was charged about 15% of the lowest quote the first guy I mentioned provided, and that was for both handles with two keys for each lock. My recommendation is persevere and don't fall for the first quote. Look around. I'm glad I did. He also saved me a 16 mile round trip by doing it then and not having me come back another day. Totally pleased with their service.

Okay so a couple of good things and whatnot. First off the guy is super nice. His keys have been the most accurate of anywhere else and if you need your car keys replaced I would recommend coming here 1,000%, that being said. The other day I went in for keys he had to recut them a little bit because they weren't working so great initially and they wouldn't open the door or turn on the engine.
I do not have chip keys I just have the regular turn key. Then he comes out and test the key but really roughly on my front door which was already unlocked. And then does the same kind of thing on my car my car turns on the first time. So no problems I'm happy everything's good. I travel for work and I was already out of town as I moved out of San Diego last year, and so when I get to my location and I try to unlock my car after returning to the car I find that the driver's door will not unlock. Called him up and he said use WD-40, and as the key was turning quite easily I was perplexed and puzzled by this comment. Anyways today I took the car door apart and found out that the plastic bit that's connected to the locking mechanism broke, I'm assuming that because this is an old car was eventually going to happen but since he was being a little rough with the door the other day happen sooner than later.
A little JB weld and some electrical tape to hold it all in place until the JB weld sets and my door is working fine. It's really wish that when somebody takes care of somebody else's stuff they're a little less rough with it. I wouldn't have had such a hard time trying to figure out what in the world was going on and having to go to unlock the passenger side door to open the driver side door the auto locks all day yesterday and the day before.
Still gave him a four-star rating because his keys are awesome and some of the best cuts that I've ever gotten. I think the initial cut was a little rough because the key that I had given him was a used key that was worn down

Went here to get a key fob for our car programmed. The one I bought online didn't work after he tried a couple times (the rear hatch wouldn't unlock, but the doors would). He had one in stock and it worked completely. He charged me a great price for his multiple attempts. Even with paying for a new fob, plus the labor it was 1/3 the price of going to dealership.

Called this company and the guy that answered was very impatient. Not everyone can explain immediately what they need and this guy not only was rude, impatient and did not let me speak or talking over me. but had no customer service skills. If you're not going to have patience with people you're in the wrong business. Some people could be slow at speaking due many reasons. He needs to remember that word of mouth can promote or destroy a business. He needs to check his attitude and his tone and not be a jerk. He ended up by hanging up on me.

I needed new keys to my safe before Sunday July 5th (my rent money was in there) Sentry Safe wanted an extra fifty dollars to expedite the keys and on a holiday weekend, expediting could mean mid week and I would be spending close to a 100 bucks. What I needed was a nice person, a good old fashioned mom and pop style business with a genuine human.
So I weeded through the google ads until I found Convoy Street Locksmith Shop. I called July 3rd; the shop was already closed, but the owner answered the phone; I explained my situation, and he agreed to open the shop on July 4th, no extra charge no hidden fees. Half the price of Sentry keys. A lot of big businesses would have loved to take advantage of my dilemma.
A little old lady desperate for a set a keys on a holiday weekend is very enticing to greedy folks. But the owner Mike was more like your old school neighborhood grocer, so to speak. Businesses like that are hard to find. If you want efficiency, skill, honesty and integrity all at a reasonable price, this is your place.

Had a situation with theft and needed both cars to get new door lock and new programmed fobs. Mike is THE MAN is what I have to say. Very affordable compared to going to the dealership which would have cost us up to 3 times as much. Courteous, knowledgeable, straight forward, and just a great guy to deal with. If you want old school customer service like the good ole' days Mike is your guy.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! Here's the backstory first: I had my bag stolen a year and a half ago and I needed new car keys (Buick Verano 2012) and at the time the locksmith that came charged me $400 for two keys. One key stopped working and the other broke so no lock button and the unlock was getting spotty. I ordered two blank keys from Amazon with all the same buttons (lock, unlock, trunk, remote start, and panic).
Now that my unlock button barely works we brought the keys (4 total: halfway broken key, not working spare, and two pack of blanks) to Home Depot since were new to the area and the guy suggested that we go to this locksmith. I don't remember his name but he is AMAZING. He programmed the old spare key in 2 seconds so that works now (I thought it was broken) and he copied and programmed the other two blank keys all for $100 and I now have 4 car keys!
He is extremely nice and patient because I couldn't figure out if I should copy all the keys or not and he gave me the best advice. The most important thing he said is not to throw away your old car keys, because he can copy the ignition key cut into a blank one without any hassle. He was the nicest guy ever and his store is stocked up on every possible key, lock, accessories, and even security cameras. He can do it all in a flash! Thank you so much again and I'm sorry I forgot your name!

Knowledgeable and skilled. I highly recommend them. I brought him an ignition for a scooter, cause the key was lost in a move. he was the only locksmith in town willing to tackle the job, after calling about 10 other locksmiths. He was able to help me out. Major key. the keys are on point! Give them your money. Thank me later.

The term "locksmith" is actually a derivation of the word "blacksmith." During the Middle Ages, blacksmiths were the artisans who created metal battle gear for the knights and their horses. However, it wasn't unusual for blacksmiths to also forge locks and keys. A locksmith is a professional technician who specialized in lock and key repair, can cut a new car key and program it to the car computer, can gain access to unlock doors, safes, windows, cars, and commercial business, everything that operates on locks and key tumblers system. Simple. Genuine. Quality expertise. Even learned a thing or two. Had a good experience. Recommended.

Even if he had actually not been effective In setting the 2004 Hyundai Sonata automobile fob that I had actually bought from Amazon, I still would claim I had an excellent experience with Mike, the owner of this locksmith professional shop. Thanks Mike! Tip- if you currently have an initial automobile fob with you as well as you are simply configuring a Second vehicle fob, make sure that you let Mike understand ahead of time so that he can reprogram both at the exact same time for you.

I drive out of my way passing several hardware stores and locksmiths to this place whenever I need a key made. Why? Because EVERY TIME I go somewhere else I get a key that sticks in the lock and/or I have to jiggle a certain way to get my door to unlock. I like to call these "murder keys" because I always envision myself in some horror or suspense movie where I'm frantically trying to get into my house away from some murderer but my $#@! key doesn't work so I die a horrible death where I leave my bloody handprints on the door and my keys hanging in the lock for my family to find in the morning.
To avoid this horrible fate, I come here, where every key cut slides into the lock and turns in one buttery smooth motion every time. Just got 6 keys cut today. Walked in, keys cut, paid and walked out in 5 minutes even though he was in the middle of helping someone else. Took the keys straight to the office and each one works beautifully. If I'm murdered it won't be because I couldn't get my door unlocked fast enough. One less worry. Thank you!

I went to home Depot and had keys made. It took 20 min and when i got home the keys didn't work. I went back and they remade the keys. It took 20 min and they were still effed up. So I used Yelp to find this shop. He made me a copy of my house key. It took like 10 sec to make. I was really sceptical after the home Depot debacle. I went home and tried it, it worked perfectly. I have gone back to him for every key copy i have needed over the last 5 years. I was a little annoyed when I realized I hadn't reviewed him yet.

***TOTAL FRAUDSTER*** Ripoff. What a joker. I called this guy to ask about making a key for my car. He isn't properly registered so he couldn't make my key for my 2015 Mazda 6. Thank goodness. He sends me to his buddy who normally charges $85 for this fee, but he tries to charge me $145 for it. It was the weirdest convo hearing him tell his buddy, "Oh yeah. and hey.
I charged him the "friend" rate at $145 OKAY. (wink wink). " Well I called the friend direct later in the day. He straight up told me, to paraphrase, "I charge $85. He's ripping you off."

I was planning to stop by Home Depot to get key copied. As luck would have it, I spotted this locksmith on the way to where I was going, and quickly navigated my way back to the plaza where it sits in. I walked in, showed the gentleman the key I needed copied, and walked out two minutes later. He even gave me a free thicker style keyring which was much appreciated. Good service, good price, and good quality. I tested the key and it works perfectly. Great shop!

I paid $307 in advance so the owner could order what he needed to have a master remote key made for a newly purchased 2013 Camry. When I picked the car up the day the work was to be done the owner explained he could not program the car with a remote keyless system because the car was not equipped for that. I had advanced $307 since he assured me he could perform the work.
I requested a refund since he failed to perform the job. He refused with the rationale that it wasn't his fault he couldn't make the key, "why you feel that I should have known what options your vehicle came with or without." I asserted that I relied on his expertise as a locksmith and he didn't perform the job. I took him to small claims court and prevailed.
I still haven't been paid the judgment the court awarded me. This is not a very nice not smart man and in response to my complaint and suit he keeps threatening to sue me for defamation. Review written last year: I paid $306.20 in advance at the owners request so he could order whatever it was he needed to make a master remote key for a 2013 Camry I just purchased.

I relied on his expertise as a locksmith, he didn't perform the job. I expect a refund, not excuses. I filed a complaint with the BBB. Their response was "the BBB has determined that the company's response does not adequately address all the issues or make a good faith effort to resolve the dispute. The BBB has decided to close this complaint and consider it unresolved." Next step is small claims court.

This company might be okay for commercial businesses, rental property or if you just need keys made or a rekeyed lock but BEWARE they will con you if they think they can make a QUICK buck off you. They have the potential to be very dishonest as was in my experience. I ended up having to go to Lowes to buy a new lock and the employee at Lowes rekeyed it there on the spot. But I'm out $45 because of Convoy Locksmith's bad business practice.

Mike the owner was a great guy, very sincere and friendly. I brought in my own OEM blanks and he said they'd run about $3 for a copy. He messed up my blank and didn't charge me because it wasn't a good fit for my bike ignition. Ended up wasting a blank but still a very genuine and honest guy. Instead of using both blanks and just charging me the full price, he tried to help me to get it to work and apologized for not being able to do both copies.

Just got a key copy made for my 2012 Fusion. I bought the car used and only one key came with the car. I bought an after-market key, but it wasn't cut, and you need both original keys to program it for yourself. Long story short, I took it to this guy, and for a fraction of what the dealer quoted me for cutting and programming, he set me right up in about 20 minutes.
Between getting the aftermarket key off of Amazon and cutting/programming it here, it was less than a quarter of the dealer cost. Now I have a spare key for my wife to use and all of the remote buttons work too. He also erased the missing key from memory so that it can't be used to start the car. Very highly recommended.
