Livonia Lock & Key

Locked my keys in my car and didn't have a spare. they were out within 15 or 20 minutes and got it open in no time. I was really impressed friendly service. Very reasonably priced if you want in your car fast.

They quickly copied my double-sided vintage motorcycle key with no trouble at all (they have a wide variety of key types available on hand). Excellent price & service - thank you!

Horrible customer service. Lock was installed incorrectly and they refused to fix it. Was told warranty on labor is only 30 days. Very bad business, would not recommend.

Called them yesterday to replace a lock for a drop box. Sent the gentleman pictures of the lock. Said it was $60 charge to come out and another $25 to replace the lock. They come out just pry open the lock box and leave and charge me $85. I called to replace the lock not pry it open as I could've done that. When I called they were rude and dismissive. Disgusting way to handle business, I would know considering I own 2. Ps. They're locksmiths and say these locks can't be replaced, what a joke!

Walked in to have a set of keys made. Quick service and cut keys worked great.

LLK came out and rekeyed the locks on our home a few months ago and did a nice, friendly job. However, I called today for help after getting locked out of my car, and the man who answered was extremely rude and told me they were closed. When I mentioned that his website said he did emergency calls, he said, "I don't know what website you're looking at. I don't do emergency calls."

My kids managed to loose their keys twice and we called this company. They arrived in a good time frame and made us new keys. The cars were no damaged and he was very polite.

Had taken a key for a display case in for some copies. Went to the "big box" stores first out of habit. They couldn't help. Went over to Livonia Lock and Key, even with their power mostly out. This guy was able to knock out 2 keys before I could even pull my phone out to check the time and put back in my pocket. This dude was the damn flash of key making. Definitely will be going here from now on for extra house keys and lock box keys. Thank you

We needed a DormaKaba Simplex lock repaired. Livonia Lock & Key is listed as an authorized intaller for DormaKaba. Our technician was on time, friendly, and quickly diagnosed and repaired the problem. The cost was reasonable, and I like that he was able to repair the lock without having to sell us new parts. I would definitely use them again.

Nice visit, I didn't get service but was given valuable information that assisted me in getting what I needed. The owner seemed like a nice gentleman. I will use them in the future if needed.

These people are terrible on pricing! They charged me 8.00 each to cut my 3 key blanks. I will not visit them anymore.

Great place! Highly recommend them for any and all key makes. I had a car key made here, first time the key had a chip in it, and the guys were super helpful in getting a new key made. And the second time, I just needed a copy of a car key. Great people.

Avoid this business. I experienced poor workmanship, and then refusal to resolve their problem. I purchased a genuine Honda key blank online from Honda and took it to Livonia Lock & Key to be cut. Livonia Lock & Key charged $35 to cut the new key, using the blank I provided. They new key does not work, and visual inspection of the two keys reveals an error in how the new key was cut.

I brought both keys and the receipt back to the store within a few days. The same locksmith was on duty. He wouldn't even pickup the keys to look at them. His first explanation is that the new key was identical to the old key. The machine cuts an exact copy, so there is no difference. He's been doing it 35 years, so he knows how to cut a key.

I pointed out one of the differences between the keys to him, but he wouldn't even pickup the key to look at it. Simple comparison between the two keys with a 10X loupe shows quite a few differences. Not being a locksmith, I don't know how many of these differences are critical to function, but nobody can mistake the two keys as exact copys.

He then changed his story and said that it was the lock's fault. The lock had adjusted itself over time to an old key, and the lock was guilty for not accommodating itself to a new key. I couldn't believe him, so I asked him - you're saying it's the lock's fault? He said yes. I told him I deliberately paid a premium and went to a locksmith, instead of a hardware store, because I wanted the job done right.

He denied any refund. My total cost is of course higher than $35, because I also bought the key blank from Honda. Of course the two different excuses cannot both be true - the new key cannot be both a perfect copy of the old key, and somehow too good and new that the guilty old lock knows the difference and won't accept it.

I've been working with Livonia Lock & Key for some time now and really wouldn't think of going anywhere else for my needs. John (Owner) and Robert/son) have always provided me quick accurate service throughout our relationship. I can unreservedly recommend them for any type of lock/key service you may need.

Professional! Kind! Quick! Bob came out to my home and did the job I called for and 3 other locks as well. he was very professional and very kind, he even greeted the puppy when he came in. I price checked all over and they were the best price and came out the very next morning!

They make keys. They make them quick. The keys work. One time they sent one of their 24/hour people to pick a basic door lock that I had locked myself out of, with my dog inside (sorry pooch ). The guy totally destroyed what should've been an easy job. He had to knock off the doorknob, but he installed another free of charge and I was only charged for him to come out. Great store! We found a box from my deceased fathers home and we didn't have a key. My husband took it here and they opened it no charge. My husband did insist they take something as they were very kind. Nice crew.

We bought a house in Livonia this year and had Livonia Lock & Key rekey all of our locks. They came on Saturday, which was very convenient. The specialist who came out was very friendly, and it only took him approximately 20 minutes to rekey four doors. He also cut new keys in his van. I would recommend Livonia Lock and Key.

I just called to see if they could come out to my house because I am locked out. The person on the phone was extremely rude. He said he won't have anything available until later today so I asked if I could schedule something for later. He says "did you hear me? I SAID we are really busy right now". When I asked if I can get an appointment for any available opening, he audibly sighed like I was annoying him. Glad they're doing so well that taking a call from a customer has become a huge bother.

I was having issue with my door lock. My key wouldn't work from the outside but worked fine from the inside. I called livonia lock and key based on the positive reviews, and was not disappointed. They were able to get someone out quickly. The locksmith was really nice and had my problems fixed in 15 mins. I would recommend them to anyone needing a locksmith

Was having a pretty horrible day prior to the cherry on top of the sundae- me locking myself out of my house. Called in a panic and gentleman who answered the phone was extremely friendly! He was out to my house in about 20 minutes and was able to get us back in the house not too long after! Excellent customer service and if I ever am in need of a locksmith will be calling this company back. Awesome job!

I had them re-key three locks for me. Great customer service, came on time, and called before just like I asked. Staff was skilled and competent. Very appreciative.

I had this place change my locks when I moved to Livonia. Excellent service and knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend them if you need a trusty locksmith. Their shop also has everything you need as far as locks goes. It's a great local business that deserves your support!

Great little hometown store with a real locksmith. Everything you need for locks, they have. I used them to make some extra keys and to key new locks to match my old key. From now on I will start buying all my locks including entry locks here. This type of craftsmanship is hard to find nowadays!
