I previously left a 3 star review talking about the unfriendly service, but I went back and the same young man was working the front. Total 180 from before. He was friendly, helpful, and sparked some nice conversation. This is definitely my go-to again for key copies and locks. Support local business!

Great service, noticed people complaining about the price, perhaps they right if they compare to a key making machine or something like that, which definitely is not the same as a locksmith, in my case went to different places not knowing it was a special key and it turned out 10.00 for both copies not bad, thank you!

I like supporting small business but $10.38 for 2 keys is a little much.

They say they're open at 8 am but I ha d been waiting since 8:10 am and it's already 8:32 am and they are still not open! At least say you're closed on yelp instead of lying and saying you're open when obviously you are not open.

Great place, excellent friendly service. It's a nice feeling to walk out with exactly what you needed, and even better than expected.

These guys will find more reasons to not help you than to help you. The find more ways to charge you for something than to be fair. Very proud of themselves. They didn't hit the mark on my call, and they missed it on my friends business as well.

I use Nason's Lock and Safe for my company vehicles. Unfortunately, we loose keys all the time. Great company, they are honest and affordable. Don always helps me out and can't say enough good things about them.

Don is so helpful and professional! I called several locksmiths who were not able to copy some specialized small keys. One of those locksmiths referred me to Don Nason. Soon made the keys quickly and easily.

This Locksmith Shop can do it ALL. They can Lock your smith! It's located in the shopping Center on the NE corner of Channel Islands Blvd. & Saviers Road. waaaayyyyyy in the back. When you first waltz in, Montana will greet you very heartedly (if around). But most likely, Don will be there. You can't miss the fella, "Snow-White-Gr8-lookin'-Hair".

If I'm not mistaken, Jack also tends to SmithLockin'. Two days ago, I had a key needing copying. Took it and went to Nason's. Montana just couldn't stop greeting me with such fervor. Don cut me two copies, Took 'em home- tried them both, wouldn't even go into the key-hole. So I thought, "Oh Boy! Don and Montana will give me a sour look!" But when I got there, Montana wasn't around. Don was, Well when he saw me prancing into his Shop, he Immediately greeted me (again). Told him the copies wouldn't go in the key-hole.

He looked at the copies, went to the back and in less than 2 1/2 minutes, came back with two more copies. I noticed they shined like stainless steel. The first two was Bronze lookin' if I recall correctly. "Thanks!," I said, "But what if they don't work either?" Don, "Don't worry. Those two WILL WORK!" He replied. "OK, but if they don't?"- I retorted, to which he assured me, "THOSE WILL!" Got back home, tried the two replacement shiny keys and LO! THEY BOTH WORKED!

Just like Don said they would. I immediately called Nason's number, Jack answered: "Tell Don he was right. Both the two keys he just replaced, did the trick. I just wanted to let him know so he wouldn't be wonderin' what happened."- I told Jack. "OK, I'll tell him" Jack replied, "and thanks for callin' back to tell us. Most people wouldn't bother", Jack said. Made me feel good.

I'm a loyal customer, because every time I've called them over the past 20 plus years, they've always provided friendly, helpful, professional and reliable service, in store or on a service call, answering questions, providing good solutions, re-key or change out locks. I highly recommend Nason's for quality service!

Professional, fast, reliable service provider. You pay for quality and accuracy. Also they install safes and make hard to find keys. Strongly recommend them in ventura, Camarillo, oxnard and port hueneme.

Less than 1 Star: I was referred to them as the best to do gun safes. I called them for their hours of operations. They told me that the close at 5:00pm. I loaded my heavy gun safe on a borrowed truck at 2:00pm and they were closed for the day - Shame on them. I went home and unloaded the safe and returned the truck to my friend. A few days later I called to see what time they will be in and out and hours of operation.

They told me open until 5;00pm. I borrowed my friend's truck again, loaded a heavy gun safe: Closed again - Shame on Me. I called and they had to "run to a job, be back at 1:00pm" I passed by the shop at 1:30pm and still nobody is in the shop - I called and they told me they were busy and maybe to try back later. For having such a big shop, shouldn't they have someone manning the office?

I then drove to their Ventura competitor, I dropped off the safe and asked when should I return? The competing Ventura shop told me to wait 30min and they'll be done. Ventura Shop 5-Stars, Nason's Lock and Safe (Less than 1 Star)

We stopped in and I swear it took less than one minute to get a car key made! Great service!

I came her the other day to get a new front door key made. The key is a really old key, so some places don't have the blank. Nason's honestly found the blank, and made the key in less than a minute, maybe even in 30 seconds. For that you get 5 stars!

I had a hard time getting a key made for a house built in 1939 with and original front door lock. This business had no problems they were quick, nice and efficient!

My car door wouldn't open. I went to Nason's for help. They said: "You can save $90 if you take the lock out first." So that's what I did. I could see that there was one tumbler element sticking out that was the problem. Handed them the lock in the store, and asked: "How much will it cost to just take that one thing out so the lock will work?" The answer came: "Don't know yet. We'll let you know." 30 minutes later, I was told the job is done.

Never got a quote. What was the price? $42, which, imo, is approximately twice the value of the work that was done. Had I been TOLD the cost in advance -- which is the minimum one should expect from any merchant -- I would have said "Thanks, but no thanks" and gone elsewhere. Bottom line: any merchant who does not give you a quote in advance of doing the work shouldn't be in business. I would recommend staying away from Nason's.

I am a Realtor, when ever I market a home I ensure that I have an extra key to the home in case the electronic lock box fails. This particular home has high end high security locks that require a special Credit Card style card and a signature to make new keys. In fact the locks are so high end that most locksmiths don't carry the blanks. Nason's was able to order the new key for my from the manufacture and have it ready for me to pick up in only a few days. They even called me as soon as the key came in so I could pick it up and keep my sale moving! I highly recommend their service and professionalism!

Called for a on-site door lock repair 1) Bad assistance over the phone (they hate callers attitude) 2) I specifically asked is their was a Charge for coming out: Their reply all estimates are FREE 3) Same guy I spoke to over the phone shows up inspects the lock and tell me "$80 for the lock, $80 for coming out here and $80an HR. I dont know how long it'll take." 4) I checked the replacement lock online $46.99 Then I said, I think I'll do it myself then he sticks out his hand and says that'll be $80 I said no, you said it was free, he said Im not going to do this and storms out. if ther was anything lower than a 1star I would have gave it to them.
