This review is entirely based on my experience getting a quote. I cannot comment on the quality of work from Payson Lock and Key. My son lost his key FOB outside in the snow. After many hours of searching, even with a metal detector, we were forced to give up and look at replacement. I called a handful of locksmiths in Utah County, including Payson Lock & Key.
Being located in Elk Ridge, Payson made the most sense. I received quotes from locksmiths with a lead time of 2-3 days to source the part. They each checked multiple suppliers. However, I was told by this company that their supplier can not get this part and it was, in fact, a dealer only item. I called two more locksmiths in Orem and even American Fork to ask if the FOB was indeed only able to be sourced by the dealer. It's just not true. Period.
Perhaps Payson Lock and Key doesn't need the business or the hassle of sourcing parts because it's a more remote location? In any case I would highly recommend looking at locksmiths in surrounding areas. Spanish Fork, Provo, Orem, American Fork, and even one really nice guy in West Jordan were willing to work with me. There are better options.

Locked they keys out of our truck Saturday night in the snow, an hour away. We called aaa, local police, two county sheriffs offices, and 3 other locksmiths, no one would help us. Payson lock and key came out and saved us, and it even cost less than we had planned! It only took him a couple minutes. Honest, good people; would definitely call them first.

The owner (I assume he was the owner) went above and beyond. I had a bad ignition switch on my truck and he saved me over $125 by fixing the one that I had. He called the dealership for me, told me the best way to go about it that would save money and time, and was very knowledgeable. Best customer service that I have come across in a long time. I wish that more people would treat customers like he did!
