San Pedro Lock & Key

States it closes at 5pm but was closed 10 min prior. I needed a key made asap for an emergency.

Some weeks ago I needed there service, they were very friendly and knowledgeable. They made my keys in about an hour and they made it compadeble to my car. So happy totally recomend them.

They are always helpful. We come here when we need to repair or replace car keys. They are closed on Saturday and Sunday!

San Pedro lock & key is always there when I need them. No matter how big or small my problem. I'm quite please with their service and I highly recommend them.

They are great. Experience is what makes them really good. They are in this lock business to do the job right.

I called them on 11/9 at 7:30pm because I was locked out of my house. The answering machine said to leave my information and I would be receiving a call back. I left all my contact information. I received no call back at all. These guys must be millennials, and will only work when they feel like it.

Wish I could give him a zero. I called to ask if they carried a specific tool to repair a door hinge, but was not sure of the name of the tool. Was not even allowed to finish one sentence to describe the tool before he started yelling at me about not understanding what I was talking about and then hung up on me when I was in the middle of speaking.

I went in to further speak to him as I needed to know the name of the tool I was searching for to even do a search elsewhere and he proceeded to tell me that he was right to hang up on me because it was a pointless conversation. No apology for speaking down to me rudely or hanging up. Needless to say, I will never do business here again or recommend this place. It's really sad because I have lived in San Pedro my whole life and so has my whole family, so I try to buy from small businesses. Guess it'll be Home Depot for me from now on.

I have used San Pedro Lock and Key, for at least 37 years. They are always professional, prompt, courteous and reasonable priced. I called when they opened and they arrived in less than an hour, fixed my door lock, which would not unlock, we can now use our front door!

Have been using San Pedro lock & key for 38 yrs and my parents had used them for 21yrs before that. Always honest and fast. This time our front door's mortise lock wouldn't unlock, they came to fix it in less than an hour, got the door open and lock working! We thought we might have to drill out the lock, which would have meant a new lock would have required a new lock $$$, and possibly a new door$$$$. Definitely a bargain for under $200.00 and over an hour of labor!

Called them to correct work done by Lazimi. Got a real locksmith, Gary, who came out same day and corrected two locks at a fair price. The former company sold us an expensive replacement of Baldwin hardware and incorrectly installed it including a too-short cut of the lever. Baldwin replaces failed parts at no cost except labor so we were cheated of $1,700 for unnecessary hardware and the problem remained. Highly recommend San Pedro Lock & Key for competence and honesty.

We called him for a simple job and he basically wanted blood type, first born, etc. Very cauky and rude too!

I have used their service 3 times and if I could I would give 5 stars each time. I had to rekey when I moved twice. Humble people. Very very happy with each worker. I can't believe how incredibly nice they are. A pleasure doing business with them and I will not go any where else if I continue staying in the area. This place is great! Old school shop that is polite, skilled and fast. Couldn't ask for more. It costs a lot of money to keep a storefront open these days, especially in LA. The convenience of being able to just walk in to a business and speak with a knowledgeable employee/craftsman I think is become a thing of the past. As a native San Pedran, I feel we are very lucky to have them still in town and hopefully will for many years to come.

I spoke with employee over the phone to make sure they have remote gate clicker. He said they have them in stock. When I came 20 min later. Same employee realized that they don't have it in stock. What a waste of time

I don't appreciate the fact you assume he was an unlicensed locksmith and he did not have the required insurance or other credentials. And btw bond is not needed by law. Don't assume your customers are ignorant for you to lie to them and they won't know it. Even a simple Google search will prove your bluff. But I appreciate you replying and trying yo BS me.

0 stars would be more appropriate. "I'm the new owner and anything that is left for repairs longer than 30 days after repair will be sold!" I'm a loyal customer of over 15 years. I took them a safe of a customer in January before the lockdown. I was called once the it was ready for pickup. Only once. I did not get a second call to tell me they would sell my customers property if I didn't pick it up.

I assumed due to the circumstances of the pandemic they would be understanding or at least call a second time. the new owner offered no solution or apology for misunderstanding only barked at me as if I was a nuisance to him. Thanks for your understanding of the extraordinary worldwide circumstances after years of loyal services and referrals given to them. I'm a local general contractor and have given them much business in the past. "I'm the new owner!" Good luck on your new business jerk.

If I dropped off the safe over a year and a half ago. You repaired it within 12 days and you held onto it for almost a year? Can you do math? Use your fingers to count if you can't do it mentally.

I needed to remove the key cylinders from two 60's Alfa Romero door handles. I went to 3 other locksmiths before going to San Pedro Lock & Key. No one knew how to remove the cylinder. Alex wouldn't give up and removed the cylinders out of both door handles. Great work ethic and attitude. Never going anywhere else in the future.

Great service. Duplicated my car keys for a very fair price and made sure everything worked perfectly before I left.

The best, end of story. Had a key to a door on an old foreign boat, and needed duplicates made. Went to Home Depot and True Value Hardware and they had nothing. Went to these guys and even though they didn't have the exact key, found a close one, did some grinding, even had to make the key thinner, but they got it done and the extra keys work better than the original. Highly recommend these guys, they will be getting all my business.

I was referred here by the local True Value hardware store on Pacific. I'm so glad. The shop is conveniently located next to a large parking lot. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they were able to solve my tricky key issue. While I waited, I heard them on the phone with other clients. They seem to be very prompt and professional. So glad to know about this business.

Just went to San Pedro Lock & Key to get duplicates for my son's first vehicle. It turned out that even though the truck was a 2003 Ford with zero frills the key still had a chip in it. This made it far more expensive. However the guys at SP Lock & Key made us a free manual key just to see if it would start the truck, it didn't. Also needed a key for passenger side door as it was a different lock.

Again I was told it would be far cheaper if we took the lock out ourselves and brought it to them to re-key (a savings of about 100 bucks). The guys also told us where to get replacement locks for the truck box that had been broken into! All around great honest service!

Got my Nissan key programmed in no time. Well under dealer cost! Just don't go and open the passenger door like I did so they have to start again. Super friendly and super efficient.

So nice to get professional advise with no hesitation given by Alex! My different office file cabinet locks needed re-keyed and repair. Great local shop for San Pedro and well worth the drive from outside the areas.

Great service no fuss. Awsome staff that knows what their doing. They can make any kind of key. Plus their key blanks are originals not generics. Good quality and prices. I love this key shop. They have never let me down. Getting keys for old motorcycles and scooters and obscure cars. I've yet to have a key I have gotten from here not work. Truly masters at their trade. If you have a badly worn key or need some work done this is the place to go to. I have always left satisfied the price is always fair price wise A great local businesses that definitely deserves your Attention when looking for lock services

After I posted my one-star review of San Pedro Lock & Key because the man who answered the phone threw a tantrum, a woman called to remedy the matter. I got my problem with my door promptly and courteously taken care of, but it would've been better if that had happened in the 1st place.

My sister needed her locks changed like right now due to a bad dude she got mixed up with. I tried installing a new lock I got from the hardware store but ran into problems and had to give up. Called these guys and they came out the same day. The price seemed a little high but they are definitely experts and were very fast which is all she cared about.

I had plenty of time and called around to all the locksmiths in the area. Allen at SAN PEDRO LOCK AND KEY gave me excellent advice and was cheaper than everyone else!
