This is my go-to place to have extra keys made. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and always know exactly how to make the perfect key. I highly recommend Harbison Lock and Key.

3 house key copies + 3 key rings were about $8, and I was in and out in about 4 minutes. It doesn't get any better than that! The best service - I recommend to anyone!

Nobody else in town could make a copy of a 1987 Mitsubishi key, but harbison had no trouble at all making me two copies for a cheap price. And it was fast. Recommended!

Rick went above and beyond to repair our door knob while explaining in detail what he was doing exactly so we would understand the process and took great care to thoroughly clean up after himself when the job was complete. Highly recommend

I purchased 2 Motorcycles in the last year and the previous owners only had 1 key for each. The first one was an atv key that was too short, but it somehow worked. The second one was bent slightly up, not side ways. I took brand new blanks to Harbison and they were able to make great copies from poor originals. All the keys work great in the ignition and the gas cap. Highly recommend Harbison for the great work they do.

Took what could have been a very expensive replacement of locking mechanisms and hardware and fixed the existing at a great savings. Understood the urgency and addressed that too

Mr. Rick was absolutely awesome. He called when he was on the way which I appreciated. When he arrived, I walked him around to show him what needed to be done and he got to work. He took time to explain to me everything he was doing and even showed me how to program my electronic door lock. He was very professional, kind and had a great spirit. I would recommend them to anyone.

These guys are total pro's. It does not make a bit of difference what you buy or home much your purchase is. I had the simplest of simple requests. A replacement lock for a condo's mail box. You would think that is an easy fix. You would be wrong. I took me three tries with Amazon. Then I gave up and tried Harbison. The First lock did not work, not their fault.

I went back for the other lock choice. That took back the first lock even though I said it was my fault. GREAT company, I highly recommend them. Thank you guys for all your help.

The people that work here are pleasant all the time! This is the only place I will ever ever ever have keys made. They work and lock and unlock everytime. Lowe's, Home Depot has always been a hit or miss for me. I've gone back to Lowe's 3 times to have keys re-cut. I dropped everything and went to Harbison. Keys worked 1st time cut and every key I've taken there since 2018 has worked 1st time. Great place. Nice people!

Really great experience. Mark was on time, knowledgeable, professional and happy to answer all my questions about our repair for a door in our home. He was able to diagnose my issue, repair it and trouble shoot without any mess or damage. Dispatcher was also super nice and worked me in on the same day. Definitely worth the 5 stars. Cannot say too much good about this firm. We were locked out of our house with a nonfunctioning lock. All of their field technicians were out on jobs and could not help us. However, they sent a technician who works in the office to help. She came and did an excellent, professional job. Thanks for helping us in our time of need!

I needed the exterior locks on my home replaced. Sent pics of my current locks and got a quote by text message. The phone representatives were polite and knowledgeable and responded quickly. The technician was prompt and completed the work quickly, replacing 6 locks within one hour. Best experience with a service company in a long time!

These guys are great! We remodeled an old house and they helped us get 2 old door locks in working order including fabricating a special part for one of them. Rather than just telling us to buy new door hardware, they appreciate that we wanted hardware original to the house. Also, we called them to open an old armoire when the key stopped working.

They weren't able to get it open but I was happy to pay them for their time and the service call. A week or so later they returned my check since they "did not meet our usual standard nor did we accomplish the work requested." You don't often see service like this anymore which is why they have been in business so long! If you live in the Birmingham area, don't call anyone else.

Harbison is always great. I came 10 minutes prior to close with a not-normal key that needed copying, and they did it with no problems. I'd had it done at Lowe's, and the keys didn't work. Prices are good, and service is unbeatable. One of the workers was giving great home security advice to a single woman who was waiting on her keys to be copied. These folks are super knowledgeable. Hours are not the most customer-oriented, but I can work within them!

We used Harbison to rekey our house recently. They took a little bit of time to get us in, but were so easy to work with and pretty quick. The price seemed reasonable too. Then we got locked out of our house today (our fault). They came within an hour. I definitely recommend them.

We've always been pleased with the professionalism, speed and attention to detail we've experienced in all of our interactions with Harbison. Living in an older house, we seem to have issues from time to time with older fixtures, etc. Yesterday one of my locks simply stopped working and I could not unlock the door from the inside or the outside. Luckily one of the techs had some time to come help and in less than an hour we had a new lock and some peace of mind!

Had a problem with our front door lock. It was easy to schedule a prompt appointment. The serviceman was nice and efficient. He thoroughly addressed the problem and quickly performed the repair. He seemed a very knowledgable person.

I've been here twice and both times the keys were made perfectly! Friendly service with easy access & parking. I've been to other places only to get home to discover the keys don't work! I just wish we had one of these locations downtown Birmingham.

After about two frustrating hours of diligent personal efforts by my husband and myself, to retract our deadbolt, it FINALLY dawned on me to call a LOCKSMITH! I had already made one call to a friend, 3 calls to Lowe's, texted my 2 sons-in-law, and called a different locksmith who was not available after 5pm! i finally used Yelp to locate this company just 16 miles away. i spoke to the answering service representative who was polite & reassuring.

Within 30 seconds, my request to simply speak to a locksmith, was satisfied when DOUGLAS returned my call. He was patient, skillful, articulate, informative, and successfully talked us thru to a resolution for our urgent problem! Bravo Douglas. We now have his contact information entered into both of our phones and highly recommend this company!'

I just called Harbison again to let me back into my locked apartment after using them once before in November. The experience was the same - prompt and very friendly. When the lock gave the technician some trouble, he was quick to call the company owner who had helped us in November for advice. It did the trick and we were back inside within an hour of calling (after 8pm). As I said in my first review on Google Places, I would most definitely recommend!

Had a problem with my Sentry fire safe - first the keypad door release failed to work, then the backup key wouldn't get into it. I called three other lock/safe companies, got a consistent story: they'd have to "drill it" (open by force), thereby ruining it and costing me somewhere between $75 and $150 for the privilege. Harbison not only got into it, they had it fixed in 24 hours - now both the keypad and key work, and for $60 plus the cost of the 4 AA batteries it needed!

Pure heroism - I drove away singing. The tech gave me a wonderful tip too: "change the batteries out every time the clocks change for daylight savings time". That's a great reminder for a lot of seasonal jobs (smoke alarm batteries, cleaning gutters, etc) around the house. His "tip o' the day" alone was worth the whole hassle with the safe.
